Hometown: Clay, NY (just outside of Syracuse, NY)
Years on the team: 1st official year on the team. In the past Stu & Chandler have helped me out at the races when I’ve been in need and I’ve worn their hand me down team gear.
Years racing: 24. I started racing XC mountain bikes in 1993. In 1998 I got lured by the pull of gravity and started racing downhill. I took a few years “off” in the mid 2000’s to go back to school, get married & get a “real” job. 2012 I realized CX fit my life pretty well & have been enjoying that ever since. I still consider myself a mountain biker and race as many XC & enduro races as I can during the summer.
Favorite course: The Asheville National Championship course was amazing! Each section was difficult by itself and you had to link all of them together and try to minimize mistakes. All of the Vittoria Northeast Cyclocross Series courses are really good. Honorable mention to Cheshire Cross. It’s part of the CT Series of CX and has ripping single track, steep climbs and crazy spectators.
Goal for the year: Have fun, set a good example to my kids (and maybe others) & try to defend my New England & National Championship Masters jerseys.
